What is your chosen object, smell, song, food, or material?
A fresh, warm sausage roll from a tiny bakery tucked off a side street.
Where were you?
Somewhere in Soho, wandering around without a plan, just letting the day unfold.
Who were you with?
My best mate, Jamie. We’d just finished our last uni exam.
How were you feeling in that moment?
Buzzing, honestly. A weird mix of relief and excitement.
Can you remember what you could see, hear or smell at the time?
Pavement still damp from earlier rain, the air thick with the smell of pastry and car fumes. We could hear a street performer singing something jazzy a few roads over, and the occasional honk or motorbike tearing past.
How does remembering it make you feel now?
Kind of bittersweet. It was such an ordinary moment but it felt huge at the time. It was like a snapshot of being young and free before everything started getting a bit more serious.

What is your chosen object, smell, song, food, or material?
Film Camera
Where were you?
We were walking down a scenic path not far from our house. We were standing over the bridge overlooking a river and sheep fields.
Who were you with?
My sister
How were you feeling in that moment?
I felt really peaceful and so much joy from taking photos.
Can you remember what you could see, hear or smell at the time?
I could see through the lens of my film camera and hear the shutter go off as I clicked to take a photograph. I could hear and see the river of the water flowing beneath me.
How does remembering it make you feel now?
It makes me feel happy and nostalgic. I haven't been out with my film camera in a long time and it makes me want to go out and take photographs.
